James Moore: Master of Placation

If you enjoy the taste of throw-up in your mouth, read on…

Statement by the Honourable James Moore, Minister of Canadian Heritage and Official Languages, on the Occasion of the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards

OTTAWA, June 20, 2010 – Canadian culture reflects the diversity of our population. Nowhere is this more evident than in our music industry: composers, songwriters, singers, and musicians from coast to coast to coast have built a solid music industry that enriches our cultural and artistic life.

Our Government recognizes the contribution of arts and culture to our society, our identity, and our economy. That is why we invest, in a variety of ways, in Canadian arts and culture, including music.

On behalf of Prime Minister Stephen Harper and the Government of Canada, I congratulate the talented nominees and winners of the 2010 MuchMusic Video Awards.

Never saw the awards.  Can’t even find it on torrent sites.  I think you can measure the impact of something by how widespread it is on those, right?

Way to divert us with something most of us don’t care about while you dismiss something we most clearly do (hint: it’s copyright).  James Moore continues to live up to the nickname we’ve so eloquently given him on our show.

I think I’ll tweet him this.
