Episode 140 - Dinner with Dyscultured

Image
Click here  to listen to this episode in your browser. More options  here . No real show notes this episode as we ate dinner and mainly talked PAB2011 . So, basically it's a whole ton of us (along with "producineer" Ryan Wiseman), bus noise, special guests and Pew-Pews... Pew Pew! Here's where we ate. Valerie Hunter swung by and talked to us right after our food arrived. We discussed all things PAB ...and we'll do a further discussion next week. Family came up. It got kinda weird. The keynote came up. Which is also kinda weird cuz it should've come first by definition. Each of us discussed what our favourite PAB sessions were. Adam Gratrix and Damien Ragubance (of "I'm Done with this Podcast") weighed in on the conversation. They also ate. Other randomness came up. (Other than the topic of focus , that is.) Shout-Outs Big shout-outs to Mark Blevis and Bob Goyetche for spearheading the whole PAB deal. Kudos

Anything + Samuel L. Jackson = awesome.

Image
It quickly became a No. 1 hit on Amazon, had its movie rights optioned by Fox 2000, and now it’s an audiobook narrated by Samuel L. Jackson, bard of the F-bomb. And by going to Audible.com , you can download it for free, just in time for Father’s Day. via avclub.com And this is no exception. Too bad the free download is a fucktarded Audible ‘.aa’ file — whatever that is… If one of our freedom-hating co-hosts can rip it to something usable we might just tack it on to the end of #dys138, recording live tomorrow night if you didn’t know. Bill C-51 ain't no fun.

Seen in the context of the copyright wars, usage-based billing and vertical integration, the Investigative Powers has the potential of posing a great threat to personal privacy in the name of security. Each measure on its own chips away at the ideals of an open Internet. If left to stand, the combined force of all four measures could transform the Internet into one of the most regulated media spaces ever known. via theglobeandmail.com More on this tomorrow tomorrow night when #dys138 records live, right here .
